BE YOUR OWN EXPERIMENT…
The key to well-lived longevity is strength and graceful movement. Even in a world full of comfort, our bodies want to move, and our lives are easier when we’re strong and supple.
Fitness goals are as varied the definitions of fitness, and all are noble. The basis of all good training protocols, though, is strength. Because strength is relative, it is easily regulated. All that’s needed is a workable plan.
Through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, I am a Certified Personal Trainer, a Corrective Exercise Specialist, and a Senior Fitness Specialist. I practice a practical strength training protocol for general physical preparedness. The process is simple, rooted in science, old school philosophy, and practical experience. Consistent practice of basic human movements, with logically added resistance, will build and maintain strength naturally. It can be done anywhere.
It’s hard to overstate the benefits strength gives to life overall. If you’re an athlete at any level, improving your strength will improve your performance. Hobbies from gardening to sailing are made easier, too. Your mobility and endurance will naturally improve, keeping you prepared to perform every daily task, and probably present better in social situations.
Strength training requires time and effort, of course, but it needn’t dominate your day, and never should it wear you down. It should be another good habit, not a burden.
My system can be practiced anywhere, at my home studio, or a hotel room in Bucharest. The gym is a wonderful place, but it’s not for everyone. I have a small, dedicated studio in my home. Perhaps you want to train in your home, or office. Parks offer multiple training tools, and the beach rewards a special effort. Good plans are always adaptable, and adaptability should be encouraged.
So, be your own experiment. Say hello, and let’s start.
